Waccabuc Stone House

Set on a steep rocky hill high above Lake Waccabuc, this home is distinguished by massive exterior stonework and a relaxed but intimate connection to the site. The design is inspired by turn of the century carriage houses and the structure was shaped in part by a deceptively tight building envelope. Although the interior spaces were determined by the architecture, the owner played a critical role in determining the quality of all finishes and details to create her own aesthetic. The result is nothing short of stunning, and it would have been utterly impossible without her intimate involvement.
